The Grady County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a man was found dead in a ditch on Wednesday. The man, later identified as William Jonas Johns, was found shot and left in a ditch on Midway Road.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) said the investigation found two people were at the scene where Johns’ death happened.
The suspects, later identified as Ashton Taylor Martin and Morgan Brenne McRae were arrested after the two tried to drive away from law enforcement and ended up in a crash.
Martin was charged with felony murder, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of crime and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
McRae was charged with concealing the death of another.
The GBI said the investigation is ongoing.
