Authorities stated that a baby and its mother were struck by a vehicle while they were strolling in Venice in 2021. After this incident, a teenager was shot and killed near Palmdale.
As he walked to his grandmother’s house in the 38000 block of 11th Street East, 17-year-old Kristopher Baca was followed by a red car. The detective with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Ray Lugo stated this occurred around 8:30pm Wednesday.
Baca was shot multiple times and died at the scene, Lugo stated. Someone in the car also fired numerous shots at him.
The incident involving a stroller and car occurred near Galleon and Speedway streets in August 2021. The surveillance footage showed a car speeding toward the woman pushing her child in a stroller. The car had been stolen, the law enforcement officials said, and the head-on collision with the car propelled the woman and her child over the hood. Then, the car took off at high speed.
Los Angeles County District Attorney Gascón defended Baca in a case involving a mother and child. The 16-year-old pleaded guilty to felony charges of hit-and-run and assault after crashing into the woman’s vehicle, KTTV Channel 11 reported. Both survived the accident, and Gascón later released a statement criticizing the mother for her public comments against him.
An anonymous law enforcement official stated that Baca was held at Camp Glenn Rockey in San Dimas for his term. They didn’t disclose any further information about the case, such as when he was released. A second source confirmed that Baca remained at the camp until October 2018, when he was disciplined for getting into a fight.
