The Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, alongside his wife, Betsy, led top government functionaries in the state to attend the commendation service held in honour of Rosemary Uanseoje, a sister to the President of Greg Continental Energy Limited, Greg Uanseru, held in Benin, Edo State, during the week.
The deceased, who died at the age of 72, was described by the governor as a devoted Christian and committed daughter of the state, who contributed greatly to the development of the healthcare sector.
Obaseki said, “She was a good Christian and somebody who worked for God and her community. She contributed so much to her family, society, state, and nation at large.
“As a nursing officer and teacher, she was so devoted and committed to her job. She was among those who greatly contributed to the development of our healthcare system in Edo State.
“She will continue to be a shining example to us in the public service.”
In his sermon titled, ‘What will you be remembered for’, Venerable Osaze Usunalele urged Christians to live selfless and exemplary lives.
Usunalele said, “The deceased was full of good and charitable works until the end of her life. We are remembering her today, even in death, for her good deeds.
“We all should be prepared for death because it will come one day. We should ensure that we live our lives well and leave good names behind.”
