The American Music Awards(AMAs) has introduced a new category strictly for the afrobeats sound ahead of the award ceremony on the 21st of November, 2022.
The organizers of the American Music Awards introduced a new category for the Afrobeats sound and have announced the full list of the inaugural nominees for this category.
The nominated artistes for the Favorite Afrobeats Artist include: Burna Boy, Ckay, Tems, Fireboy DML and Wizkid.
This is a shocking move and a recent development that has shown how far and wide the afrobeats sound has travelled in recent times.
The award ceremony is scheduled to take place on 21st November 2022 at 2:00 am WAT at the Microsoft Theater in the US.
